Jackie 11th September 2016

We are thinking of you all Clem, Hugo, Isy and Gilles and biensur of dear Mary Rose - the photos bring back vividly her smiles, her laughter and all the lovely times we shared together. We have a photo of her standing in the little river up at Montsegur with you children splashing around her and I will try to find it. She is still very much in our hearts and minds and we think of her in all sorts of ways. In my file of recipes the "Mary Rose chocolate cake" and "Mary Rose yoghurt cake" have been revisited and enjoyed many many times (and will certainly continue to be so!) If you all came here she'd always arrive with a basket of garden goodies - maybe fresh plums or apples or jars of home made jam. One of the last times she popped in on her own she had a book in her basket that she was reading - it was the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and we spoke about it. She found it inspirational in her nursing life as well as personally. We read it and have re-read it and have been similarly inspired. We thank her for that too. There are so many memories and snippets. She was always positive and encouraging about our building and re-building projects! She was, as you say, a kind, loving and wonderful woman. We wish you all well and think this memorial you have set up is a warm and worthy tribute to her and to all she brought to everybody's lives. With love and best wishes from Jackie and Pete
